Wish Upon a Butterfly

For several years now A&M Garden Club has taken part in this annual event of The Brazos Valley Museum of Natural History at the end of July. We have a booth inside to offer information and advice about planting for butterflies, the butterfly life-cycle, etc.  Members make craft items ahead of time, such as magnets, book marks, and “butterflies on sticks”, and propagate plants that attract butterflies to provide a source of nectar and a host for larva to feed on.  So much fun, with little kids dressed up as butterflies, live music, and food, and the grand “release” when the kids and parents go outside to open their packages and let the butterflies go!
